When Shoping in Puerto Vallarta

Two of the companies that provide these services authorized by the Secretary of Finance (SAT) are, TAX BACK and YVESAM that you can find located at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and be able to claim your tax refund when leaving Mexico.The application and claiming of the VAT (Value Aded Tax) is easy for tourists. Applicable Taxes in 2010


The Mexican Government has announced that starting January 1st, 2010, Value Added Tax (VAT) will increase in 1%.  Current applicable taxes in Puerto Vallarta, are 15% VAT and 2% occupancy tax.  Therefore, starting January 1st, 2010, VAT will be 16% and the occupancy tax remains at 2%.
